The Soul of Via Serapide 13
Casa Vacanze Serapide 13 a Santa Lucia Napoli
Where history still lives
Via Serapide 13 is not just an address — it is an emotion. A corner of Naples where every stone tells centuries of history, beauty, and resilience.
Via Serapide — a street born from History
Via Serapide was born during the great 19th-century Risanamento (urban renewal), when the old alleys of the Santa Lucia district were demolished to shape modern Naples. The name is a tribute to the Egyptian god Serapis, venerated in Naples since Roman times by a flourishing colony of Alexandrian merchants who brought his cult to the city — the god of commerce, fertility, and protector of the seas. Along the street, you can still breathe that atmosphere suspended between past and present. Period buildings stand alongside unexpected views, and those who walk slowly can still catch the signs of a Naples that isn't told in tourist guides.
The Ruin — our living memory
Next to our home stands the ruin of an ancient building made of tuff and red bricks. It is not just any ruin — it is the proud scar of the 1943 bombings, when Naples stoically resisted over two hundred air raids. That time-worn facade is not a wound; it is a medal of honor. A silent witness that reminds us every day of the strength and resilience of this extraordinary city. From one of the windows, of our Casa Vacanze Serapide 13 a Santa Lucia Napoli, you can admire its remains, and on certain days with specific light, you can still see the profile of that ancient palace.
Serapide 13 Holiday Home – The rare privilege of having history right before your eyes.

The Ancient Lighthouse — the neighborhood's secret
Just a few steps from our home, almost hidden among the buildings of the Pallonetto, stands the Ancient Lighthouse of Santa Lucia — a tower with a 16th-century base that once guided sailors into the harbor when the sea level was higher and the waters lapped against these very streets. Today, it is incorporated into a residential building, almost invisible to those who do not know where to look.
A secret that only the true inhabitants of Santa Lucia know and which, metaphorically again, shows the way to those seeking the true soul of Naples
Santa Lucia — the oldest heart of Naples
Via Serapide beats in the heart of Santa Lucia, the oldest district in Naples, born even before the city itself. It was here that the Greeks from Cuma landed to found the port of Falero, giving birth to the legendary Parthenope. Here, the Roman general Lucullus built his magnificent villa, the Castrum Lucullanum, which stretched from Pizzofalcone to the sea. Here, the "luciani" — the fishermen of the village — have written for centuries the truest and most authentic history of Naples.
Our Logo — a tribute to our roots
The logo of Serapide 13 in Santa Lucia is an act of love toward this street and this city. We have chosen to reinterpret the Ace of Cups (Asso di Coppe) from the ancient Neapolitan playing cards, placing the face of the god Serapis at its center — the guardian of Via Serapide and a symbol of luck, abundance, and protection.
A logo that tells the story of who we are and where we come from..

Staying at Serapide 13 means not just visiting Naples, but inhabiting it, feeling it, and truly living it.
